Almost a year ago I started designing Harrison a travel themed bedroom. You can read about it here Now that we are expecting number three in October, we decided to put the older two boys together. With a little bit of rearranging, the boys now have an awesome travel themed room.

I am all about sentimental things, and this room is full of them. My dad’s childhood desk sits in the corner next to newly painted headboards from him and my uncle. My grandma made the boys the cutest little sock monkeys that sit on their beds.

There are plenty of new items as well, including comforters and curtains from Target. Most of the wall decor is from Hobby Lobby or Amazon. For more details on those items, see my previous post.

There are a couple of DIY projects in this room as well. I made the flag banner and matching pillows, both fairly simple DIY projects. The $10 garage sale dresser I redid a few years ago sits opposite the beds. It is a big enough dresser to hold clothes for both boys, so it is a staple in this room.

The bookshelf was another DIY project from a cheap garage sale find. With just a little bit of paint, some map scrapbook paper, and some mod podge I created this travel themed shelf. The kids have so many books and I wouldn’t have it any other way! We keep books in the bedroom, playroom, and living room, but their favorite time to read is definitely before bed.

Now that Harrison and Micah are sharing a room, I can create a new nursery from Micah’s old room. The colors are staying the same, but I am adding a Peter Pan theme. It is coming together so well. Here is a little sneak peak:
